Play Party Rules

Dungeon Monitors

  1. Please make sure you know who your Dungeon Monitors (DMs) are before beginning any play in case you need to find someone in authority in a hurry. They are wearing a red sash and DM name tag at parties.
  2. DMs are empowered to enforce the rules established for RKS parties during the event. Attendees who refuse to obey the rules will be asked to leave; the judgment of the DM in such a case is final.
  3. DMs are also empowered to stop any scene that they deem to be unsafe. If you plan to do something that might appear to be unsafe or nonconsensual, inform one or preferably both of the DMs on duty ahead of time. Informing DMs reduces (but does not eliminate) risk of your scene being stopped.

Safety

  1. RKS uses the "traffic light" safeword system– "Green", "Yellow", "Red". "Safeword" is also a recognized safety word.
  2. Basic first-aid supplies are available at RKS parties. Please let a DM know if these become necessary.
  3. RKS parties are drug and alcohol free. So are you. Any attendee who appears to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will be asked to leave.

Hygiene

  1. Sex, penetration & other activities involving the exchange of bodily fluids are not permitted at RKS parties.
  2. Scat play & watersports are not permitted at RKS parties.
  3. Cutting, needleplay & anything involving intentional bloodletting requires the permission of the DM on duty.
  4. If you will be doing play in which body fluids are likely to be present, cover equipment with an absorbent pad, towel, or other protective item.
  5. Always wipe down equipment with antibacterial wipes after use.
  6. Nude individuals must use a personal towel or blanket when sitting on couches, chairs, or other non-play furniture.

Behavior

  1. Involving yourself in a scene without prior permission of the other participants is not permitted at RKS parties.
  2. Non-consensual touching, harassment & "puppy-dogging" of any person are not permitted at RKS events.
  3. Treat other people's possessions with respect. In particular do not touch another person's toys without their permission.
  4. If you are High Protocol, it is your responsibility to notify the people you will be interacting with.
  5. Play furniture is available on a "first-come, first served" basis. Try not to monopolize play furniture; DMs are entitled to impose time limits if this becomes necessary.
  6. During parties, the RKS space is divided into "play space" and "social space". Minimize distractions to players by keeping conversation to a minimum & voices low as you watch others play; move to the social area if you want to have a conversation. Similarly, don't play in the social space.
  7. If others' play involves activity that bothers you, leave the area. Do not intervene in someone else's scene; if you think a scene is non-consensual or unsafe notify a DM.
  8. Fetishwear is encouraged, but not required- please make sure you're dressed discreetly when you enter the building and when you leave for any reason (including stepping outside to smoke).

Security

  1. Audiovisual record devices, both automatic and manual (including but not limited to cameras, digital cameras, mobile phones, tape recorders, video cameras, pencil and paper, paint and canvas) are not permitted at RKS events except those parties designated as "photo-friendly" events. Attendance of such events does not imply consent– those making recordings, taking pictures, sketching, etc. must still acquire permission from all subject(s) in advance. Recording, taking pictures, sketching, etc. should not interfere with others' use of the dungeon, and is subject to DM approval.
  2. Smoking is not permitted in the RKS meeting/playspace during RKS events. Smokers are allowed in the designated area outside the loading dock. Please dress appropriately if you will be outside.
